Sustainability

"Where to start?" In fact, that is one of the first questions that is asked about CSR and Sustainability. At RAAS Consulting we start from a perspective that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability are two of the most important issues facing businesses today and in the future.

CSR and Sustainability have stopped being a "fluffy-bunny" way of trying to look good - it has become the actualization of organizations' compliance programmes, codes of conduct, and business efficiency and effectiveness programmes.  CSR and Sustainability are about business; good, sound, effective, sustainable business*.

* But if it is really important to you, it is also about saving the world...

The Business Climate: On this site you'll also find extracts (sub-chapters) from The Business Climate (TBC), an unpublished manuscript on CSR/Sustainability for business. Specific TBC extracts include:

The Business Climate (extract from introduction) - this provides an overview of the structure of the complete document.

SEC reporting and CSR - a discussion of how CSR reporting fits into the already existiing regulatory framework required by the Securities and Exchange Commission in the United States, and an argument that companies should already be providing CSR/Sustainability information.

Programme Implementation - this provides a very high level overview of the author's process for the implementation of an effective CSR/Sustainability reporting process. We would be happy to discuss this process in much more detail.

Stakeholder Panels - a discussion of the purpose and ideal makeup of stakeholder panels to support effective CSR/Sustainability reporting.

Introduction to Assurance - investors, analysts and regulators desire assurance over reports to provide confidence that the information included can be trusted. An introduction is included here. Contact the author for detailed discussions on individual assurance standards that may be (or are specifically) applicable to CSR/Sustainability reporting.
