Climate Change expectations survey results (1)

I recently posted a quick, three question survey asking about climate change as an issue (participate here). The first group I invited were Corporate Governance and Risk Managers. The second was posted on Twitter. I did get feedback from someone (you know who you are) saying that I did not include "what country are you in?" Quite true. This was after all a very quick survey.
The three questions:

1. Your views on Climate Change can best be described as (5 options):
2. Our elected (and unelected) leaders understand the scale of the problem.
3. We will act in time.

For the Governance and Risk Managers, I felt group is made up of enough risk professionals that I expect them to be looking at longer term issues from a risk, not national cultural bias perspective. Of that group, a total of 18 people responded, so the results are statistically meaningless against any large population, and obviously represent self-selected participants only. None the less...

So what were the results?

Twitter results (the "whole world") results will be posted once there are enough responses.

Governance and Risk Managers:

Well, in one sentence: It will be bad, but not as bad as we're told, and while our leaders understand the issue, they will not react in time.

The group generally accepts that climate change is an issue, but also think that it will not be as bad as the doom-mongers. At one end there were 3 people who think it is a hoax, while at the other end 6 people thought it would be very bad or even the EOTWAWKI (“end of the world as we know it”). However, fully 50% of the respondents thought it would be bad, but not as bad as Gore et al. So is that a skewing to the positive, or to the negative? You can probably read that any what you want.

Responses to the next two questions could be summarized (by me, that is) as - Yes, our leaders understand the problem but, No, they will not act in time. so much for faith in our elected (and unelected) leaders.
